Library Hotel, New York City, New York
Staying at the Library Hotel is a unique experience that guests will never forget. Its best feature isn’t its location—which, conveniently, is right smack in the middle of Manhattan, New York and a mere walking distance away from the New York Public Library. What’s so great about this hotel is that it’s uniquely designed to be based on the Dewey Decimal System! Not so shocking, considering the hotel’s name, but to think that the staff actually took the time and care to conceptualize each of the twelve floors according to the division should be applauded. A collection of books and top DVD’s convey the feel of the classification each floor represents.
To describe the rooms takes some effort, although safe to say that you can have a choice of having a single or a full room, with the difference being the number of beds. But this luxury hotel continues to impress, and even with a single, you still get an impressively-sized room, filled with books and DVD’s that show their theme. There are other special suites offered, with the Junior Suite King having a special sitting room where you can conduct receive guests and invite them to sleep over in the sofa bed. Besides these, there are some theme rooms that range from the innocent fairy-tale to the coy erotica.
The Library Hotel doesn’t only focus on developing their suites, but also have great amenities such as a buffet breakfast, high-speed Internet connection in every room, and complementary passes to the New York Sports Club. For book lovers, however, the best part of this is access to what they call the reading room, and full of books in all matters and continuously updated. There’s no doubt about it, if you love to read, the Library Hotel should not be missed.
